1. (transitive)To cause (a visual element such as a tool palette) no longer to float over the rest of the application.

   “Watch out for operations that defloat the selection. Deselecting the image defloats it, of course. You also defloat a selection if you clone it by Option-dragging, modify the selection outline by Shiftdragging, or enter the quick mask mode.”

   “There are two ways you can defloat a selection, or cause it to merge with your image.”
